There is one vacancy at the Denver Federal Center (6th Ave and Kipling) duty location. The grade of the position, GS 1399-7-9-11, is dependent on the level of education outlined below under “Qualifications required.”

Who May Apply: Area of Consideration: Current students of Colorado School of Mines; University of Colorado, Boulder; Colorado State University, Fort Collins, & VEOA eligible veterans or persons eligible for non-competitive appointment under special appointing authorities (such as 30% Disabled Veterans).

Position will be filled under the Student Career Employment Program (SCEP). Applications will be accepted only from students attending: an accredited institution of higher education; progressing towards a Master's or Doctorate’s degree with a major field of study in a related field of studies that provides the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities required for this position. A GPA of 2.0 or higher is required and must be maintained, and U.S. citizenship is required. Previous Federal service is not required. Individuals without competitive status are encouraged to apply.
Qualifications Required: Student trainees may qualify based on education and experience as described below.

GS-7 - Requires 1 year Specialized Experience at the next lower grade (GS-05); OR completion of
1 year of graduate-level education OR superior academic achievement
GS-9 - Requires 1 year Specialized Experience at the next lower grade (GS-07); OR two (2) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master’s degree or master’s or equivalent graduate degree.
GS-11 - Requires 1 year Specialized Experience at the next lower grade (GS-09); OR three (3) years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.

DEFINITION OF SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: To meet specialized experience, your resume must describe experience that demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA’s) as follows:

NEED TO HAVE EXAMPLES OF SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR ALL THREE LEVELS SO THAT EXPERIENCE IS A FACTOR WHEN QUALIFING FOR GRADE LEVELS

An example of specialized experience includes experience in the field data acquisition for engineering geophysical site investigations, equipment use, maintenance and safety.

GS-7 Level: At least one year of demonstrated experience (via references or written reports) using KSA 1 or 2 listed below.

GS-9 Level: At least two years of demonstrated experience (via references or written reports) using KSA 1, 2, or 3 listed below.

GS-11 Level: At least three years of demonstrated experience (via references or written reports) using KSA 1, 2, or 3 listed below. Be able to demonstrate at least two authored or co-authored reports regarding engineering geophysics applied to site characterization.



The following are the required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities that are required for this position:

1. Knowledge of the use of engineering geophysics concepts and field data acquisition principles, and practices with special emphasis on those related to engineering geophysical site characterization.
2. Knowledge of the methods and practices of engineering geophysical data acquisition equipment use, maintenance and safety, field data pre-processing and quality control.
3. Knowledge of methods and practices of geophysical data interpretation, inverse and forward modeling and data visualization.
4. Skills in oral and written communication

In addition to the program requirements above, the candidate:
• Must be currently attending an accredited institution of higher education and progressing toward a graduate degree.
• Must be currently enrolled for at least half-time course load in a Geological or Geophysical Science major; that included at least 30 semester hours in mathematics (including calculus) and the physical sciences (geophysics, physics, engineering, geology, chemistry, astronomy, meteorology, electronics, etc.).
• Have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Once appointed, must maintain a GPA of at least 2.0 for the duration of the program;
• Must provide a copy of grade transcript (Unofficial) for each semester/quarter within 30 days of course completion;
• Must provide proof of enrollment for the next semester of classes with the information stated above;
• Must be at least 16 years of age;
• Must be a U.S. Citizen


Major Duties:

You will ultimately perform the following duties:

- Participates in engineering geophysical data acquisition and quality control.
- Performs data reduction and pre-processing of acquired field data.
- Performs data analysis, interpretation, forward and inverse modeling, model visualization.
- Participates in field trips to facilitate accomplishment of position duties.
- Assists in maintaining group capability and equipment readiness.

Conditions of Employment: If selected, you will be required to submit an OF-306, Declaration for Federal Employment, prior to entrance on duty.

ALATEC is seeking a Networks Architect to provide expertise to research, design, and develop the Complex Operations Data Development Activity (CODDA) network architecture and services (hardware and software); information assurance (IA) protocols; data development process (to include collection, transfer, cataloging, extraction, analysis, and retrieval requirements, processes, and automation); and data and tool configuration management (CM). Further, the chosen candidate will provide expertise to design, develop, and maintain the CODDA databases and database management and access servers (hardware and software). The network architect will use state-of-the-art concepts, capabilities, and processes to establish and maintain the CODDA as a critical data developer.

Lead an effort, at Leavenworth, Kansas, with DBA support to:
• Design, develop, and maintain the CODDA database(s) and associated services (both hardware and software)
• The contractor shall coordinate a requirements development process, extensively leveraging prior research and designs completed by the customer
• Identify Department of the Army (DA) and Department of Defense (DOD) IA regulations and will develop protocols and a code of best practice (COBP) for CODDA personnel to follow
• Research and develop a data development process that defines the development process, its key activities, how disparate data products are to be integrated, relationships to other customer sections and to outside agencies; and how the network architecture, automation tools, and support the process
• Develop two separate, but related CM processes; one to manage the data handled within the CODDA, the other to manage the automation tool suite used
• Design, develop, and maintain the CODDA database(s) and associated services (both hardware and software)
• Identify, recommend, and integrate data and database search services (primarily software and processes)
• Develop, build, implement, deploy, and assist in the population of specific database instances, i.e. SQL Server, to support the CODDA mission
• Implement CODDA business process workflows that enable the sharing of data between CODDA elements, in CONUS and in-theater, and its customers across a network
• Research and make recommendations about current state of the art in the use of virtual server technology to enable CODDA IT enterprise services
• Coordinate directly with appropriate governmental and non-governmental agencies, academia, combatant commands, Joint services, Army, and TRADOC activities and other resources to obtain necessary data, information, and reference materials to support product development

Education:
• Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Specialized Experience Requirements: Applicants must have one of the following:
Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level you must possess at least one of the following:
One full year of specialized experience. Specialized experience is described experience

Position OVERVIEW:
Plans,schedules, conducts, coordinates, and executes (if necessary) all phases of a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) project. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:



• Develops detailed work plans and schedules for all phases of a GIS project. Helps to define scope of work, schedule, and procedures for project assignments.

• Determines budget estimates and staffing requirements for the defined scope and schedule.

• Evaluates and recommends hardware and software requirements.

• Oversees collection of field data required for project and screens available data for relevance and applicability.

• Designs (or oversees the design of) GIS, database, and analytical processes. May include system development (e.g., tailoring hardware, software, and data configurations to meet project needs).

• Designs and develops (or oversees design and development of) GIS automation processes for internal use. Modifies application code to customize automation processes.

• Utilizes various spatial analysis methods (interpolation, modeling, etc.) to depict patterns and trends of geographic data.

• Integrates hardware, software, and data. Assesses precision and accuracy of GIS data; makes decisions regarding relevance to projects. May integrate non-GIS data with GIS applications, as appropriate.

• Troubleshoots complex hardware and software problems, and develops suitable workarounds.

• Performs quality assurance on GIS deliverables, GIS processing, and execution of tasks by subordinates.

• Evaluates commercial GIS applications, and designs and develops difficult and complex GIS applications for internal use and client deliverables.

• Produces (or oversees the production of) client deliverables in both hardcopy and digital format.

• May Supervise lower-level GIS Specialists and GIS technicians assigned to project.

Qualifications



Required:

• Proficiency using the Arc GIS suite of products such as: Arc Map, Arc Catalog, Arc Toolbox).

• Knowledge of Department of Defense geospatial programs.

• Experience with federal spatial data standards (SDSFIE, FGDC). Spatial data conversion and creation. Metadata development.

• Experience providing geospatial data quality assurance and quality control.

• Experience providing geospatial analysis support to develop, implement and maintain geospatial services.

• Must have experience with or understanding of relational database management systems (ODBC, Access, Oracle, and SQL Server).

• 5 years experience preferred

The typical sell is a major program of services with multiple years in length and tens of $millions in revenue. This role requires both strategic vision and tactical execution strengths. The candidate will provide support to the Marine Corps Engineer School's

to other members of the curriculum development team; and conducting
interviews with military personnel returning from deployment to
receive feedback specific to IED-D methods being utilized in theater for
incorporation into MLFs. Candidate will be required to instruct
and evaluate military personnel in a field environment, making on-the-spot
corrections when necessary. Candidate must also have the
ability to tailor MLFs, emphasizing those aspects of the MLF germane to the
theater of operation the military student will be deploying to.

Responsibilities
.Support the administration function including processing communications,
submittals, rfi?s, scheduling, and day to day liaison duties with project

required, including managing T & M paperwork for completeness and accuracy,
on site deliveries and storage coordination.
.Assists in the preparation review and distribution of minutes,
correspondence and documentation to and from the site .Assists in the
tracking of project milestones and financial deadlines; creation of the
schedule, input and updating of schedule data throughout the project, and
review with PM/Superintendent.
.Assists with the coordination and management of subcontractors and supply
of materials .Prepares warranty packages, purchase requisitions for approval
and assist with procurement of material and equipment.

.Manage/Support Quantity management with the client and internally be
responsible for QA/QC sign off sheets and logs as well as maintenance of the
QA/QC field program.
.Work with onsite project team in the project close out specifically;
systems testing and inspections and C of O sign offs from the field
perspective.
Requirements
.Diploma or degree Construction management, or Engineering Technology or
related area.
.1 to 5 years experience with construction and familiar with the respective
construction methodologies of such.
.Familiar with estimating and quantity surveying principles .Strong computer
background including experience with MS Project and Excel.
.Familiarity with JD Edwards, P6 and Primavera Management software an asset.
.This is a site based role ? Candidate will work in direct support of the
Superintendants and project team on site and will direct report to the
Senior Superintendent onsite.
